How does the stem separator work?
Your audio is sent to our server running Demucs htdemucs — Meta’s state-of-the-art hybrid transformer model. It separates the mix into 4 independent stems (vocals, drums, bass, other) which are returned as downloadable MP3 files.
How long does it take?
Typically 5–10 minutes for a 3–4 minute song on our CPU server. The quality is significantly better than instant browser-based tools. A progress bar shows live status while you wait.
Can I isolate just the drums or bass?
Yes — Demucs separates all 4 stems at once (vocals, drums, bass, other instruments), so you can download whichever stem you need. You also get a pre-mixed karaoke track (drums + bass + other combined).
What audio formats are supported?
MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC, AAC, and WebM files up to 30 MB. Maximum audio length is 5 minutes. All stems are returned as MP3 files (192 kbps).
